IEEAC’s Cadet Scholarship Program has been running for a number of
years. Each year, up to four Cadets are chosen to be involved with the 8-week
program. Cadets are chosen from the undergraduate programs in Primary and
Secondary Education at the various universities all over
the world.
In recent years,
Cadets have been chosen from many universities.
The Cadets are highly self-motivated individuals with an interest in
assessment and reporting.
The 8-week
program is a balance of professional development, mentoring and practical
applications of various forms of assessment and reporting in the classroom.
Cadets are trained in item writing, test construction, analysis of items and
tests, and reporting. Cadets also develop a deep understanding of how
assessment and reporting is not only a valuable tool in the classroom to
assess student performance, but how it can to used to assess their own
effectiveness as a teacher.
The training
provided by the program is rare and invaluable and is recognised by schools
and government departments. It gives the Cadets practical experience in
assessment and reporting prior to entering the teaching profession.
